Electronic Services for Businesses

The North Carolina Department of Revenue is phasing out the ACH Debit Touchtone, Voice and PC Software payment methods that many of you currently use to pay your business taxes electronically. Please choose one of these two options to pay electronically:

  • The new e-Business Center that provides a web-based ACH Debit payment option and credit/debit card payment option.
  • The ACH Credit payment option.

If you need additional information about these electronic payment methods, select Electronic Payment Methods in the Reference Tools section.

The Department has offered online filing and payment services for a variety of tax types for many years.  Over the years, we received numerous requests for additional features to make online filing and/or paying more convenient.  In response to these requests, we developed a new system called the e-Business Center.

The e-Business Center:

  • Is a secure web-based system within our website where you can file and pay taxes, store payment and business information for reuse, view history of online tax transactions and conduct other business with us. We have provided an e-Business Center Quick Start Guide to get you started.
  • Requires a North Carolina Identity Management Service (NCID) user ID and password to login so that we can provide you with your tax account and payment information while protecting the privacy of that information. Note: If you are a local government employee, there are special steps needed to register for an NCID user ID and password which are explained in our e-Business Center Quick Start Guide and NCID Registration Information.

NC-/NC-5P Withholding Tax and CD-429 Corporate Estimated Income Tax are the first two online services to be introduced as part of the e-Business Center. During this transition period, we will continue to support the existing NC-5/NC-5P and the CD-429 Corporate Estimated Income Tax online services.

The Department of Revenue offers other online services. These are listed in the "Other Electronic Services" section or can be found on our Electronic Services page, which can be accessed from the Department's homepage. Eventually the e-Business Center will replace some if not all of these services.
